In case you missed it [REDACTED] is the hottest new iOS 6 feature Apple isn’t talking about.

Well known iOS developers are talking about a secret new iOS 6 feature which will deliver some un-announced feature to iOS 6.

Most likely this secret iOS 6 feature will be part of how Apple sets the iPhone 5 apart from the iPhone 4S, though it looks like developers are already able to play with the [REDACTED] feature in closed-door sessions at WWDC.

Sean Kovacs, an iPhone Dev, speculates that it will be a commonly used feautre.

There are few clues to what this new feature is. It will only be for apps running on iOS 6, it might have something to do with gaming.

Though it doesn’t offer much apparently it has a negative effect on editing photos in the camera roll and it runs on the iPad 3rd gen, but not all apps play well yet.

While the new [REDACTED] iOS 6 feature may be the best thing since sliced bread, it’s a cause for concern for some developers. Steve Weller, an iOS engineer at SoundHound, worries this new view will ruin the user experience.

The best clue we have is a tweet from Mark Dagon Hughes, developer of Notecraft for the iPad, who points to a link on Objective C features, which may as well be a foreign language to me.

Hopefully some users of the iOS 6 beta or a developer behind closed doors will leak some information about the new feature.

What do you think this [REDACTED] view is?

    In the Instapaper and camera roll tweets, REDACTED refers to iOS 6 itself. it’s a cheeky thing developers do.

    Redact = “Edit for publication”

    So I’m guessing developers can edit their apps or something within iOS 6
