Android 5.1 Release Date Soon

Rogers says that its Android 5.1 updates for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be rolling out in June. It's important to note that the carrier's release dates are ETAs. They are dependent on testing behind the scenes and as many of you know, testing can be extremely unpredictable. 

Now, Rogers probably wouldn't have put those ETAs up there unless it was confident that Samsung was making progress. A specific release date is hard to predict but we'd be surprised if the Android 5.1 Lollipop release was months away for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

The only way these updates miss badly on June is if things go haywire during the testing process. That's happened before but it's rare. At this point, we expect the Android 5.1 release to start in a few weeks.
