New Samsung Galaxy Android 4.4 KitKat Update Details Emerge

New Samsung Galaxy Android 4.4 KitKat update details have emerged with new information again pointing to upcoming Android 4.4.4 KitKat updates from Samsung and perhaps, Android 4.4.3 KitKat updates as well.

Since January, Samsung has been pushing out Android 4.4.2 KitKat to select devices including the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2. And in the past few weeks, we’ve seen the company roll out new Android 4.4.2 KitKat updates despite the presence of Android 4.4.3 KitKat and Android 4.4.4, two new Android KitKat updates that fix major Android 4.4.2 KitKat problems.

While Samsung seems content to roll out Android 4.4.2 KitKat to its fleet of flagship smartphones and tablets, it also looks like the company has Android 4.4.4 KitKat updates up its sleeve for the fall. The company might also be working on Android 4.4.3 KitKat for select devices though that remains unconfirmed at this point.

In the past few days, we’ve seen several new details emerge as Samsung prepares for a busy fall full of smartphones launches including the Galaxy Note 4 release that the company confirmed ahead of its September 3rd launch date.

Samsung Galaxy Android 4.4.3 KitKat

Earlier this month, Australian carrier Vodafone announced that it had a Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update in testing. According to the company’s latest Android update update, the Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update remains in testing without a confirmed release date.

The listing was and is extremely interesting given the Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update rumors, given that Samsung hasn’t confirmed the update, and given that new Samsung devices should be coming with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and not Android 4.4.3 KitKat.

Unfortunately, a new update to Rogers’ Android update schedule has caused even more confusion in the buildup to the fall. The Canadian carrier says that it will be pushing out Android 4.4.3 KitKat updates to the Galaxy Mega, Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S3 mini, and Galaxy Note 8.0 at some point in the future. The listing is curious because the company also lists a number of other devices like Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 as having Android 4.4.3 KitKat. Those devices are currently running Android 4.4.2.

The company does make the distinction between Android 4.4.4 KitKat and Android 4.4.3 KitKat, two Motorola devices are listing with Android 4.4.4 KitKat coming soon, though all others are listed with Android 4.4.3.

Samsung Galaxy Android 4.4.4 KitKat

While the Samsung Galaxy Android 4.4.3 KitKat situation isn’t clear, what is clear is that the company is planning to release new devices with Android 4.4.4 KitKat on board.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Alpha, a new mid-range device with a design that combines plastic and metal, will be arriving in September with Android 4.4.4 KitKat on board. It may not be the only one either.

SamMobile reports that the European Galaxy S5 LTE-A (SM-G901) Android 4.4.4 KitKat firmware is now available, ahead of the device’s anticipated release. The software is available in the United Kingdom and Switzerland and it’s a sign that the device will be out on shelves in the near future. A specific release date still isn’t known.

While this doesn’t confirm it, it certainly does leave open the possibility of the Galaxy Note 4 running Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Galaxy Note 4 benchmarks have shown the device running both Android 4.4.3 KitKat and Android 4.4.4 KitKat behind the scenes as Samsung tests it to ensure that it’s ready for a public release in the weeks ahead.

Unfortunately, an arrivals on the Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5 LTE-A and Galaxy Note 4 don’t help owners of the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2 dealing with Android 4.4.2 KitKat problems. The emergence of these two updates in recent weeks leaves the door open on possible releases though nothing is confirmed at this point.

Samsung has been known to outline its Android update strategies at major launch events and with a Galaxy Note 4 launch confirmed for September 3rd, it’s possible that we’ll see Android 4.4.3, Android 4.4.4 KitKat or Android L release information confirmed then.

That is so rediciulos. Kitkat 4.4.2 socks at all. Galaxy s4 users everywhere r complaining about this version and it needs an emegency update. The device is great but the software socks too much.
