Samsung Galaxy Note 2 U.S. Price All But Confirmed

Published

on

On Wednesday, Samsung and the five U.S. carriers that will be getting the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phablet will officially launch the device. And while we’ll likely have to wait until the event for official confirmation, it looks like one of the details we expect to emerge from the event, the Galaxy Note 2 U.S. pricing, is now all but confirmed thanks to a leaked photo.

A leaked document from TMoNews indicates that T-Mobile, like U.S. Cellular and Sprint, will offer its Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for $299.99 on-contract for those who sign up with a value plan.  That price joins the prices of the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 and U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 2, both of which are confirmed to be launching for $299.99 on-contract when they arrive.

The Galaxy Note 2 U.S. price will likely be $299.99 across the board.

And while we still aren’t sure whether AT&T and Verizon will charge the same, we expect them to, given the already steep price and the fact that they will want to stay competitive with the other variants.

While this hasn’t been confirmed by T-Mobile and is subject to change before release, we would be shocked to see a different price tag launch with the device. While T-Mobile typically charges a little more for its high-end devices, see Galaxy S III for example, it needs a way to compete with the other Galaxy Note 2’s, all of which will carry 4G LTE speeds right from the start.

It would also be difficult to sell a phone beyond that $300 price point, which is already extremely expensive.

Fortunately, we should find out in just a couple of days as Samsung will be showing off the Galaxy Note 2 for the first time in the U.S. at an event that is expected to produce all of the pricing and release date details for all of the U.S. Galaxy Note 2 launch carriers including T-Mobile.

Thus far, only Sprint has announced when it will be launching the 5.5-inch Galaxy Note 2 phablet, which it will do on October 25th. T-Mobile says that it will be coming soon while AT&T and Verizon remain mum.

U.S. Cellular has said that it would be shipping out by the end of October.

I would really like to know the no contract price as well.. I’m guessing 700-800 but a employee at the sprint store said 650 but I highly doubt it will be that cheap.
