Samsung Galaxy Note May Be Heading to Sprint

The Samsung Galaxy Note has already launched elsewhere in the world, to great fanfare we might add, but the United States has thus far been left out in the cold. Yesterday, we saw an official image of the Galaxy Note show up with AT&T branding all but confirming that at least one U.S. carrier would be getting it and now today, SprintFeed has tossed the Now Network into the mix as a possible destination for the phone/tablet hybrid.

While there is no physical evidence to support the claim, the report claims that a trusted source is saying that Sprint is gearing up to launch the device and it may use CES as the place for the announcement.

Unfortunately, no release details were available.

In addition, it would appear that the Galaxy Note for Sprint will have the same specifications as the device that’s currently on the market. It’s also unclear whether it’s going to be a WiMax 4G device or if its just going to run on Sprint’s CDMA network.

If true, it could mean that those who want to pick up the 5.3-inch device, a device that we loved when we first saw it back at IFA, might have two options when it arrives in the United States. The AT&T version is rumored to have 4G LTE support though, something the Sprint model won’t have.

Specifications on the Galaxy Note, at least the model that’s out right now, include Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a dual-core 1.4 GHz Exynos processor,  micro SDHC card slot for expansion and either 16 or 32 GB of internal storage space.
