Last week we saw a Samsung Galaxy S3 vulnerability that let a malicious user gain full access to the smartphone, bypassing the lock screen. This small bit of monitoring prevents access to the Samsung Galaxy S4 home screen and prevents a malicious user from sneaking a peak at the Galaxy Note 2 home screen.

While not an official fix, it is a good idea to download Lookout Mobile to the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S3 Mini and Galaxy Note 2 for the time being. In a blog post, Lookout Mobile says, An official device patch is expected from Samsung shortly, and we recommend that users update their devices as soon as the patch is released.”

Because the hack requires physical access to the smartphone, it is a good idea to keep your smartphone close at hand, and to not leave it sitting on a table or desk unattended.

In addition to patching this Galaxy S3 security hole, Lookout Mobile allows users to track down a lost or stolen Android device and protect themselves from Android malware.

The vulnerabilities come as Samsung is trying to make a big push into enterprise and business use, where security is very important.
