The Samsung Galaxy S3 is now available for as little as $10 as carriers and resellers plan for the fast approaching Samsung Galaxy S4 release date.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is less than a year-old, but the phone’s successor is on the way to U.S. carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon as early as April.

While many users should wait for the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy is one of the best smartphones available this month. It may not feature a 1080P HD display, a 13MP camera or all the Samsung Galaxy S4 software features, but it is set to receive an update that could bring the latest Android features and some of the special Samsung Galaxy S4 features like eye-tracking and motion scrolling.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is cheaper as the Samsung Galaxy S4 release nears.

Early Samsung Galaxy S4 prices range from $99 with monthly payments to $249 with a two-year contract, and we may see more variations as the Verizon and Sprint Galaxy S4 release details emerge.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Samsung Galaxy S3 deals drop the price of one of our favorite smartphones below retail, but it is one of the first times where carriers are offering the Galaxy S3 for below $100 directly, something that could become a new permanent price.

Nearly all the major U.S. Carriers are offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 for a lower price now that the Galaxy S4 is almost here. The only holdout is Verizon. Without digging deeper Verizon customers would have no clue that the carrier is planning a Verizon Galaxy S4 release. With no Galaxy S4 landing page or pre-order details, Verizon is keeping the Galaxy S3 price firm at $199 with a two-year contract, but savvy shoppers can get a better deal.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 is now $99 on a two-year contract, and the off contract price is even lower at just $449. Sprint is offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 for $99 to new customers. T-Mobile which is now offering payment plans for phones dropped the price of the Samsung Galaxy S3 to $69 up front, with $20 monthly payments.

The biggest discounts come from third-party sellers like Amazon and Radio Shack, which could soon be selling the Samsung Galaxy S3 at discount prices for the rest of the phone’s life.

A cheaper Samsung Galaxy S3 allows carriers to play with pricing and offer a cheaper device that is still close to a flagship to users who can’t afford the Samsung Galaxy S4 price of $250, even if it is worth paying.

This strategy works well for Apple with the iPhone, and as Samsung looks to gain marketshare in the U.S. an affordable Galaxy S3 could prove attractive to the large number of first time smartphone buyers who are likely to get a smartphone in 2013.

It sucks that carriers give a better deal to new customers rather then customers that have been with them for sometime. Way to take care of loyal customers….
