Galaxy S4 & Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Release: New Roll Out Details

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean release is ongoing and some users remain on Android 4.2 and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Today, we’ve seen some new Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update details emerge for those that are still waiting for Android 4.3 to arrive.

Samsung is currently rolling out the Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update. It has also announced a Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update for the future. Problem is, the company still hasn’t finished rolling out the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update that started rolling out last year.

While a majority of devices have seen their upgrade to the previous version of Android, some devices linger on Android 4.2 and Android 4.1. For whatever reason, many of those devices reside in Australia where carriers have been extremely slow to act.

Today, Vodafone Australia finally announced the availability of its Galaxy S3 3G Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, months after the update first started rolling out and three months after the update completed inside the United States. Those who own the device simply need to check inside the settings for the brand new update.

The carrier also says that it has scheduled testing for the Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update though it declines to provide Galaxy S4 users with any kind of release window. The news isn’t all good though. Australian carrier Optus has pushed back three of its remaining Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates.

The carrier says that testing for the Galaxy S3 4G Android 4.3 update will begin after it receives the update from Samsung and that it plans to release the update in later March or early April. The update originally had been tagged with a mid-March release.

Optus also pushed back its Galaxy S3 3G Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update today. The carrier claims that “Samsung is still working to get an updated build to us for testing” and that the expected roll out is now set for late March or early April.

Finally, the carrier has also pushed back its Galaxy S4 4G Plus Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update and says again that Samsung is working on a revised version of the software. It too is supposedly going to roll out in late March or early April. It originally was supposed to arrive back in January so this is a very lengthy delay.

These aren’t the only missing updates either. Telstra Australia claims that its Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update won’t roll out until mid-April. It also says that it has run into issues with the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update that need to be addressed before it rolls out to the public at large.

While release dates are up in the air, one thing is for sure. Many Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 users will be waiting quite awhile for their Android 4.4 KitKat updates to arrive.
