Apple iPhone 6 rumors continue to swirl, teasing those who already are or will be in the hunt for a new smartphone later on this year. And thanks to alleged iPhone 6 mockups, we’re starting to get an idea about how Apple’s new iPhone will compare to some of the biggest names on the market including the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8.

For months, we’ve heard rumors about Apple’s plans for products launching in 2014. We’ve heard about iOS 8 and OS X 10.10. We’ve heard some whispers about its new iPad models. We’ve heard about the company’s supposed iWatch. And we’ve heard a ton about the company’s 2014 iPhone dubbed iPhone 6.

iPhone 6 rumors have consistently streamed to the surface, teasing everything from the next iPhone’s display size, to its processor, to its camera, to release date, to its potential redesign. Lately, iPhone 6 rumors have been keying in on the iPhone 6’s design, a design that could potentially be a whole lot different than the 7.6mm iPhone 5s that launched in September of last year.

Recently, we’ve seen a number of supposed iPhone 6 dummy units leak to the surface, showing off what very well could be the final design of Apple’s next iPhone. The dummy units match what we’ve seen come out of the iPhone 6 rumor mill and they offer an early glimpse at what to expect from Apple later on this year.

We’ve already seen these dummy units compared to the likes of the iPhone 5s and Galaxy S5 but 9to5Mac recently released a detailed video showing off several iPhone 6 dummy units next to the iPhone’s biggest rivals. In a brand new video, the site showcases these alleged iPhone 6 mockups next to the Verizon Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8. The comparison offers a possible glimpse into the differences between the three flagships.

What we can see here is that the mockup isn’t that much smaller than the 5-inch Galaxy S5 or the 5-inch HTC One M8. This is due to the apparent increase in the size of the display. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 6 could come in two different sizes, 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches, and it’s clear that this mockup is based on the 4.7-inch rumors.

Once again, we also see the sweeping design changes that Apple will supposedly introduced with the next iPhone. The mockup looks a lot like the company’s iPod touch with its thin shape and rounded edges and we also see the changes to the buttons that reside on the side of the iPhone. The power button has been shifted to the side while the volume keys are now rounded.

This is how the iPhone 6 could size up next to the Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8.

These mockups align with rumors that insist upon several design changes. Rumors suggest that Apple could deliver an iPhone 6 that is up to 26% thinner than the iPhone 5s. A recent leak from Ukrainian website suggests Apple is aiming for a smartphone as thin as 6mm, but Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities believes a 6.5 – 7mm thickness is easier for Apple to achieve.

In a note shared by MacRumors, Kuo also says that he believes that the iPhone 6 will come with a power button on right and narrower bezels. This lines up with what we see here on this mockup. Kuo accurately predicted many of the iPhone 5s’ features before its launch last September so his information is considered more credible than most.

iPhone 6 rumors almost exclusively point to the arrival of two models though it could be that Apple splits the release dates. Reports suggest that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will launch in either August or September. Rumors point to a 5.5-inch iPhone 6 launch after the arrival of the 4.7-inch iPhone, perhaps as late as 2015.

If Apple does launch two iPhone models in 2014, the company would not only be going up against the Samsung Galaxy S5 but the 5.5-inch model would likely be challenged by the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, a device that is expected to join the Galaxy S5 on shelves this fall. Galaxy Note 4 rumors suggest that Samsung could be delivering some major upgrades to the Galaxy Note series including a massive design change.

HTC is also expected to replace its HTC One Max later on this year. The HTC One Max features a massive 5.9-inch display and is considered one of the Galaxy Note’s main competitors. HTC One “Prime” rumors suggest that HTC could be beefing its larger model up with specs aimed at helping the device compete with the iPhone 6, Galaxy S5 and more.

iPhone 6 rumors suggest a number of changes as well. Rumors hint at a brand new A8 processor, an improved camera, NFC support, and Apple’s upcoming iOS 8 update. iOS 8 is expected to debut before the iPhone 6 at the company’s WWDC conference in June. Apple typically makes its major announcements at its day one keynote so the iOS 8 launch date is expected to be June 2nd.

According to me iphone 6 will definitely give tough competition to Galaxy S5 with its large Sapphire display along with sharp resolution, and also there are some rumors around that it might have wireless charging compatible back cover. Well, just wait for another few months everything will get cleared. Till then keep exploring Galaxy S5 as it is not right time for comparison based on rumors.
