Samsung Redesigns Galaxy Tab 10.1 for Germany

Published

on

After the German courts had sided with Apple to ban Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 from going on sale in the country, Samsung had went back to the drawing boards to produce the Galaxy Tab 10.1N with a slight hardware re-design that would hopefully be seen as not infringing on Apple’s designs.

While identical to the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the new Galaxy Tab 10.1N reveals more of its metal bezel on the front; the metal bezel on the left and right hand sides, when the tablet is held in landscape orientation, is now more prominent. Additionally, with the added space, Samsung has reconfigured the speaker ports. Rather than have the dual speakers face the sides, now the speakers are channeled towards the front to direct sound towards the user.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1N is expected to arrive in the next few days.

The picture below shows the new Galaxy Tab 10.1N on top and the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 on the bottom.

The new one looks like a big iphone 3g with a big aluminium lining around it…
