The Spectrum digital adapter box is a small square box with Cisco written on the front. This box can cost up to $7 a month to rent and it’s not the best piece of tech in your house. You need both Spectrum Internet and Spectrum TV for this to work. The odds are good that most Spectrum TV customers also have internet through the company.

Simply login to the Spectrum TV app on the Roku with your Spectrum username and password and you can start watching live TV, without the need to spend up to $7 a month for a Spectrum box or digital adapter.

If you don’t want to use a Roku device, you can also stream with an Xbox One or a Samsung Smart TV. The app does not work on the Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV.
