Part of the fun of Skyrim is the discovery (new cities, items, characters, etc) but it definitely pays to have a guide handy. You can go out and buy one (the official guide from Prima Games is excellent) but there are a number of outstanding free Skyrim guides out there. The Skyrim Wikia and the UESP Skyrim guide cover everything you need to know about the game. We recommend bookmarking those for easy access. There are also several applications for phones and tablets out there. A Free Guide for Skyrim is one option, IGN's guide is another. It might feel a little bit like cheating but having a Skyrim guide handy will save you a ton of time. We mostly use these guides for crafting (finding some materials can be an absolute pain) but there are times when you might call on a guide for a quest or a direction to a specific location. Tamriel is a huge sandbox and it's easy to get distracted. Sometimes, those distractions are welcome. But if you only have 30 minutes or an hour to play the game, you need to be laser focused. A guide will help you figure out exactly where you need to go and what you need to when you get there. | |||||||||
