9 Smash Hit Tips & Tricks

Published

on

Smash Hit is an addicting free app for iPhone and Android that is climbing to the top of free app charts thanks to fun gameplay, great music and sound effects and beautiful graphics.

In this free iPhone and android game users tap on the screen to send steel balls flying at glass and crystals. To start you’re just breaking things, but eventually gamers need to  develop a strategy to keep playing and rack up a high score.

We’ll take a look at this game and offer some Smash Hit tips and tricks to help you explore all 50 rooms and graphic styles.

9 Smash Hit Tips & Tricks

The Smash Hit iPhone app and Smash Hit Android app deliver a fun game that is hard to put down and incredibly it is also free to play. There is a premium version of Smash Hit for $1.99 that unlocks check points and cloud game progress syncing, but the basic experience is completely free to play with no pop ups asking gamers to buy new balls or time.

Focus on the Crystals

Hitting the crystals in Smash Hit are the only way to get more balls to keep going further. The crystals are plentiful early on, but they start to space out as you progress.

Smash Hit iPhone

When these crystals are situated on the edges of the screen and on moving platforms it is harder to get them. A crystal delivers three balls to your supplies so don’t use more than three, or ideally more than two on a crystal.

Don’t Waste Balls on Barriers

The barriers are a necessary target at times, but it’s easy to get distracted by the moving barriers. The barriers are also an attractive target to aim for to trigger the breaking glass noise.

Smash Hit Tricks

Sometimes you will need to break them to pass without crashing, but other times you can save your balls and slide by without crashing.

Hit 10 Crystals in a Row for Multi-Ball

Smash Hit Cheats

If you hit 10 crystals in a row you trigger Multi-Ball which allows you to throw two balls with one tap. This comes in handy when you progress to later rooms when you need to take on the bigger barriers and hit crystals more often.

Do Whatever it takes to Avoid Crashing

Smash Hit Barriers

If you crash into a barrier or a door you will lose 10 balls. That means you’ll run out of balls faster and won’t progress to the further rooms where more challenges and fun await. If this means frantically tapping and potentially wasting 5 balls, just do it.

Play with Two Hands

Instead of tapping with just one finger, take aim with two fingers or thumbs to throw multiple balls at once. This is a necessity when you go into later levels and barriers and crystals are packed in closely.

Go Premium to Go Further

Smash hit Premium

Smash Hit is a free game, but the premium version lets you start from checkpoints so that you don’t need to play the first two rooms over and over, just to progress. It’s $2, and it’s worth it.

Learn to Bank and Use MultiBall

Smash Hit Levels

When you hit a crystal, the ball keeps going. If you time them  correctly and aim just right you can bounce the ball from one crystal to another to knock out two with one ball.

Learn the LongShot

In addition to the throwing with both fingers, learn how to line up the long shot. If you aim high enough you can pick off crystals from long distance and not waste balls as they get close. This is especially handy for opening the doors between rooms.

Look for Powerups

As you play through Smash Hit you will come across power ups that let you shoot and unlimited stream of balls and more. Whenever you see a powerup, aim for it even if you need to waste a few balls getting there.

These Smash Hit Tips and Tricks can help you play the game better and go further.

    i’m stuck on checkpoint 5!
where the powerball is introduced.. i keep crashing into the gray cylinder things, how to i get past this??

Ernie, you hit the red stick or whatever that is attached and moving the cylinders

  9. Renee

    03/10/2014 at 2:13 pm

When the cylinder is lengthwise and suspended at the top hit the right and left suspension glass from a distance
When the cylinder is lengthwise and suspended from side suspension glass hit only the right or left.
When the cylinder is suspended by 4 peices of glass you have to hit all 4. Start from far away with good aim. You can’t get close.

About the cylinder with 4 glasses holding it, you don’t have to smash all 4! Just the two on the right and smash around 2 balls right in the cylinder, it’ll move it from the way, always works.

      06/09/2014 at 5:20 pm

The lengthwise cylinder suspended from the top has to be hit only once. The lengthwise cylinder suspended from the sides has to be hit on both sides. The longways cylinder only has to be hit twice on one side, and then once in the middle of the cylinder (the cylinder swings away from you when you hit it).

The advice I can give you is when you see a wall with a light in it, it will shoot a glass square at you.

P.S. For everyone, the floating spiky things at the end of checkpoint seven are like crystals, except when you break them, instead of three balls, they give you ten!

For Galaxy s3 . when it say game over or when ur ball gettin 0 stop the game quickly and shout it down. do ur other things on ur phone like call , sms bla bla bla after 10 -15 minutes open it again and it gonna give u between 6 and 34 balls again. i do this eveytime and always it works.

If you have a green power up(unlimited balls) and you run out of balls, use it and you can possibly hit more crystals before the power up runs out to get yourself going again.

On endless, third room, my five ball streak bonus randomly dies. Has anyone seen the crystal I’m theoretically missing?

  17. Chase

    03/16/2014 at 10:24 pm

Jared, it’s hidden immediately to the very left as soon as you go through the gate. I’ve found that the only way to get it is by obtained the yellow/orange power up and activating it right before you go through. You can’t get a direct shot on the crystal but with the power up you can throw directly to the left and break it.

So far 12,500 is the best I can do but I’m hoping by keeping the 5 ball streak longer I can go further.

Do all power up disks have the same function? If not how do know which one does what?

    • Hailstorm

      07/05/2014 at 3:19 pm

Marcel, the green one is infinity ball, the, the pink one makes it slower and the orange yellow one is really destructive

Has anyone beat checkpoint 7? If so, how??????????????

    • Andrew

      01/28/2016 at 10:07 pm

I beat check point 7. I think the main reason I beat it was because I got to it with almost 200 balls. If you’re having trouble getting past the spinning things with the 3 cylinders, just hit the two vertical glasses holding the middle one. There is a point where the glass barriers are moving really fast diagonally across the room. Also try your best to hit the floating spikes (it’s really hard, but they’ll give you 10 balls). The 8th checkpoint is impossible. The barriers are like gyroscopes, and they will put a couple of them in a row with crystals in between that are nearly impossible to hit. They also have 4 barriers that are rotating around each other, but they’ll freeze for a second every quarter turn. Also the room is like a burgundy color.

    03/22/2014 at 10:28 pm

is there an way of beating endless mode or is it really endless and just about seeing how high you can score?

    • Hailstorm

      07/05/2014 at 3:21 pm

As far as I know, Tim, there is no way of beating endless. It is supposed to go on forever

    03/24/2014 at 3:29 pm

To get past the lasers, aim for the vertical dark pink far-left sides where the lasers are coming out.

I need some tips on getting pass checkpoint 7

  25. JayGee

    03/29/2014 at 6:10 pm

don’t waste shots early on … shoot no more than two on each on the swinging thingies … catch that green power up at top left but save it for the last room. If this doesn’t help, go back to 6 and try to end with more shots and multi shots.

How do you get the floating barrier to shatter in level 7? I’ve shot like 40+ balls at it and it stays. How to make it shatter or disappear??
