Without confirming the HTC EVO 4G LTE release date, Sprint has essentially confirmed the upcoming device’s release date with it’s pre-order offer for the EVO 4G LTE which went live today.

Those pre-ordering the device this morning have confirmed to Gotta Be Mobile that the device will be shipping out by May 15th and that the device would take around one to three days to arrive. That means that that rumored May 18th release date, which has been whispered numerous times, seems to be the day to key in on for an official HTC EVO 4G LTE release.

Sprint has yet to confirm anything itself but unless something catastrophic happens, the device should be arriving on doorsteps by May 18th. In fact, some folks might even see it arrive early.

Today marks the first time that Sprint is taking pre-orders for the HTC EVO 4G LTE, offering the device up for $199.99 on-contract and for it $549 off-contract. Both prices are competitive with other 4G LTE flagship devices on the market.

In addition to the price, the EVO 4G LTE packs some solid specifications.

Again, as a refresher, those include a 4.7-inch Super LCD display with 720p HD resolution, a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 8MP rear camera that is powered by a dedicated ImageChip and has a physical button, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, an NFC chip for use with services like Google Wallet, and a large 2,000 mAh battery.
