Stephen Colbert Uses an iPad at the Grammys

Published

Talk about product placement. Stephen Colbert pulled an iPad out of some pocket or the other to read the nominees for best song of the year at the Grammys Sunday night. I’m sure that cost a pretty penny.

Cool use of it by Colbert, still doesn’t make me want one.

You saw this first at https://www.segal.org/tablet/. But the iPad is 16 mm higher (at 243 mm) and 20 mm wider (at 190 mm) than the LS800, which reduces the wearability. But the iPad is 9 mm thinner and weighs a third less, and as the person who may hold the record for most hours carrying a tablet in a jacket pocket, that would be welcome.

Too bad it is so locked down and you can’t use a pen or multitask. But it will not take much imagination now for people to get these things right. There is lots of extra space beyond the screen on the width and that is the most important dimension to reduce for wearability.
