T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 Update Rolling Out Monday

Published

on

HTC announced today that the T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update will officially be rolling out on Monday after the company hit a bit of a snag. HTC’s Jason Mackenzie says that the update was unexpectedly pushed but that T-Mobile HTC One owners will get their Android 4.3 update with Sense 5 enhancements next week.

In August, HTC promised HTC One owners in the United States that they would get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, instead of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, sometime in September. Unfortunately, the company was unable to keep that promise as the updates were pushed to October. In early October, HTC announced the Sprint HTC One Android 4.3 roll out and also tagged the AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon models with specific dates.

The Verizon HTC One release date is confirmed for August 22nd.

The AT&T and T-Mobile updates were pegged for mid-October while the Verizon HTC One Android 4.3 update was given a late October roll out window. Earlier this month, HTC rolled out the AT&T HTC One Android 4.3 update and now, it’s on the company to roll out the T-Mobile and Verizon updates. HTC today confirmed specific timing for one of those updates, saying that the HTC One Android 4.3 update for T-Mobile will be landing on Monday.

HTC’s Jason Mackenzie, who has been relaying Android 4.3 information to HTC One owners in the United States, said today that the update would be rolling out next week after the company ran into unforeseen issues. Originally, the update was expected to roll out sometime this week but it appears that plans have changed.

While the company has missed target dates in the past, this one appears to be set in stone as Mackenzie would not have given out a specific date if he did not have one in mind. What this now means is that T-Mobile HTC One owners will be waiting until Monday to get their Android 4.3 features and their enhancements to Sense 5.

The company has not yet confirmed a specific date for the Verizon HTC One roll out but Mackenzie has said that the device is on track to get the software by the end of the month.

I sure hope so. It’s beginning to feel like the National Debt; always kicked down the road.

I hope so because it’s about time…kind of ridiculous that a major company hasn’t been able to give an exact date of release until 2 days before.

Jason “end-of-the-month” MacKenzie really says nothing. It is amazing that HTC could not hire a more professional and competent CEO. No wonder their earnings are in the tank. To make it worse, the guy thinks he is “twitter” cool.

That figures….Leave it to T-mobile to “F” it up for everybody;(…..js. I am So sick of T-mobile and their antics when it comes to updates I could puke. It’s like they are trying to piss all of their customers off or something. What a bunch of douche bags!!
