The Division Incursion Glitch: What You Need to Know

Published

on

Listen carefully and you might be able to hear the moans of thousands of users. Right now, they’re staring at their video game console or PC, all wondering what happened to The Division Incursion glitch that allowed them to game Ubisoft’s online third-person shooter and claim rewards that they didn’t exactly earn.

Since The Division 1.1 update launched, thousands have taken it upon themselves to circumvent a boss battle in the new mode and claim rewards for their own. Incursions are the new end-game player challenges. Some say that they didn’t want to take advantage of the bug, but felt compelled to by their friends. Others threw caution to the wind, knowing full well that Massive had designed Incursions to be very difficult to finish.

This week, video game developer Massive launched a huge fix for issue, and made its position on the subject of exploits very, very clear.

What The Division Incursion Glitch Involved

The original glitch was fairly simple. Falcon Lost, the official name of the first Incursion, forced players to make it through an intricate area loaded with hostile forces. Only by meeting each of these forces and beating them together were teams supposed to be able to claim Falcon Lost’s rewards. Plenty of people seem to have done the mission the right way.

Some people didn’t though. Instead, they switched their Agent’s skill to Mobile Cover, then set about making it to a rope that lifted them to the second floor of the mission. You could use the Mobile Cover skill to then glitch the wall and circumvent the waves of enemies that would normally do everything they possible could to stop the group. Forces would target the JTF player companions instead of the players themselves. A few well-placed shots later, and users were good.

Massive recently repaired the issue.

That’s the good news for those that didn’t like cheating. The bad news is that, according to GameZone, there is another The Division Incursion glitch that lets players circumvent some of the missions enemies.

TOM CLANCY'S THE DIVISION

This glitch involves having players get to the area where the mission’s boss fight is, then sending one team-mate to a Safehouse nearby. The Mobile Cover glitch then lets users fast travel to their teammate. Sticky bombs allow players to do quick damage. Turrets and grenades have no effect on the player.

Expect Punishment If You Take Advantage of The Division Incursion Glitch

Clearly, Massive will continue to issue patches and repairs to the game and stop these kinds of things. The company has made it clear multiple times that because The Division is an online community based on stats, cheating won’t be tolerated.

Specifically, about The Division Incursion glitches, the studio has made their position even clearer lately. “We are working on fixing the exploit. Obviously it is against our Code of Conduct and the Team is looking into what can be done in terms of punishment for those who have exploited,” a forum post from a Ubisoft Community Manager says. That post goes on to link to Code of Conduct for the game.

The Code of Conduct states that, “exploitation of any new or known issues or bugs is forbidden and may result in account suspension or revocation.” You’re a little safer exploiting some games since they’re not connected to a server and community dependent. The Division isn’t one of those games; you need a UPlay account and access to Ubisoft’s servers before you can look at your character’s gear, much less play through a mission with friends and family.

The Bottom Line on Using The Division Incursion Glitch

There are a lot of people out there encouraging friends and others to take advantage of any Incursion glitch they can find. There are also a lot of people encouraging players to be kind, to not glitch the mission and skew the game’s economy and stats in the name of being “cool.” Naturally, people encouraging the later have the moral high ground.

What you choose to do is completely up to you. In the end, it’ll be the character that you worked hard to create being punished or your account that gets enforced upon. Just don’t expect that using The Division Incursion glitch or any new glitches won’t have consequences at some point. Massive and Ubisoft have made themselves incredibly clear on that point. What they’ll do is anyone’s guess, but it seems certain that something will be done.

Yes punish the ever shrinking player community for the developers lack of coding ability… And this article pretty much sides with that idea. Maybe company should be held to a higher standard considering the game will boot someone at anytime so you 4 hours of incursion the are just wasted. Mention the constant error but no one it’s about punishing player.

The safe house glitch is fake, can’t use skills inside the safe house or fast travel to players inside the mission zone

Hey Travis how much are you getting paid by Ubisoft for writing this article? People are going to glitch if there is one otherwise you get left behind. Not the customer’s fault if the game can’t do what is intended.

This is a very pathetic post. Are you on the payroll of Ubisoft?

‘There are also a lot of people encouraging players to be kind, not to glitch’

What has being kind has to do with to glitch or not to glicht (glitchsphere ^^) ? So people who glitch are unkind and the ones who don’t are the kind ones? What is this for logic? Sounds like you haven’t spend much time on forums. Most of the time it is the other way round, you should read how ugly frustrated non-glitching players come out.

Do you know how many exploits are in this game? Why does everybody focus on the Lost Falcon one?

In my opinion they should focus on all glitches that are giving people a huge advantage in the DZ. The DZ is what should keep people playing once they have finished the “campaign missions”. If people stop playing DZ, this game will die faster than the time that they delayed the release of it.

Be real and be honest. Everybody is glitching in this game, eihter it is for Phoenix credits, DZ credits, normal credits, DZ experience, normal experience, to get gear easily, to get weapons easily, to get materials easily… You can glitch for everything you want!

So stop being a pathetic cry baby and stop blaming people who use these exploits! Go blame Ubisoft for the most pathetic coding ever seen in gaming history!

Not everyone glitches I haven’t that is the honest truth. It is frustrating to be in the Dark Zone and get smashed because of the players who have glitched to get the best gear sets and insurmountable amounts of Phoenix credits, DZ credits, or Credits. Its very unfortunate I have to be in the same lobbies as these individuals and getting kicked from matchmaking because I chose not to glitch. The game was meant to be a grind and go game but where it takes legit players 1.5 to 2 hours for one mission the players who glitch get 10 or so gear items in that time frame just doesn’t seem fair. Reset their stats with every new patch don’t ban them just reset their stats and make them start from the beginning all over again that will put an end to their cheating ways. I’m sure they will have a problem with this but stop cheating earn it the right way, chances are your work ethic in the real world are terrible and you feel a sense of entitlement.

How many time I have done things legit and fell through the map. Missed out on loot and HOURS of play because I fell through the map a dozen times or rolled and got stuck in a wall/room. I glitch for the items I have missed out on because of the crap. They are so worried about the exploits. How about players who actually hack on Pc with aim bot doing 1 shot kills. How about the UN building falling through the map. How about the incursion the snipers hitting you through the wall that you can’t even shoot through. How about the turrets shooting you through the walls sometimes. What about the players who crafted bags and still can’t log on to their account or character still yet. How about the DZ getting stuck under vehicles from rolling for cover? Only way out is to kill yourself and hey the nice high end weapon (s)gets left on the street and major xp loss. I can complain about so many things when I play legit. I love how so many glitches happen to you in the dz or challenge mode that leaves you missing out on loot and have to redo the mission only to fall through the floor again or get killed in a position you can’t even get picked up from. This is why I glitch for all the bad stuff that happened to me and the multiple hours of farming missions over and over only to fail because I fall through the map or get stuck in a wall, under a table, inside a table, enemies shooting me through walls or teleporting through walls.

Punishments for people who take advantage of a glitch, even though a glitch has forced me to do the same portion of the game over about 10 times because the game freezes and restarts?
What’s next? Will video game developers start sending SWAT teams to gamer’s homes?

The logic of doing it “fair”, seems to me, the same logic as, I wouldn’t ever take a pay raise at work because then my coworkers and I would have different levels of wages and that would be “unfair.” It’s all rhetoric. If you don’t like someone using a glitch/exploit that’s fine, but don’t try to make yourself sound like you’re morally superior because in one way or another you would put yourself before another

Would you be upset if you were putting in the extra hours at work working your hardest and doing a great job? Only to see the office slut who is always late half assing everything and sleeping with the boss getting the raises? Because that’s whats happening here.

Stop cheating cause you are lazy and demand instant gratification. boo hoo they got better gear it will all level out later on. i keep plugging away its starting to lvl out. EVERY online game has a lot of glitches to fix in the beginning.
