Last year's Moto X was one of the biggest surprises of the year. It was Motorola's best release in years and we rated it amongst the best smartphones on the market. In fact, we still consider it among the best smartphones on shelves, nearly a year after its release.

Motorola confirmed that it will be bringing a new Moto X+1 to market later this year and we can't help to feel excited about it. The Moto X featured a customizable design, some of the best Android software on the market, and a great camera and there is no reason to think that the sequel will be a step backward.

If Motorola keeps the device affordable, there is a real good chance that the Moto X+1 could be one of the best smartphones ever made. Best of all, it's coming out sometime this summer which means that there isn't much of a wait.
