The update, which is detailed on the U.S. Cellular website, is now available through an Over-the-Air update through the device’s settings. Users of the device will want to head into the settings of the Galaxy Note 2 and check the About section of the software in an effort to pull the software. Once that’s done, the update will show a prompt and the download and installation process will begin.

The U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 2 now has access to Multi-Window View.

Owners will want to set aside a bit of time to get the update downloaded and installed though it isn’t a major Android update and thus, shouldn’t take an eternity to progress. Keep in mind, Galaxy Note 2 owners will need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network in order for the process to happen.

Once the process is complete, the U.S. Cellular will be outfitted with a feature that many Galaxy Note 2 owners have been using for weeks now. That feature of course is Multi-Window View, a feature that allows Galaxy Note 2 users to split up the phablet’s massive screen into two parts running two separate applications.

For instance, on one part of the screen, Facebook could be running while on the other, the browser or email. It’s a powerful multitasking function, a grand tour can be seen in the video below, and it’s one that should be welcomed by U.S. Galaxy Note 2 owners.

The update also brings a host of bug fixes to the table that should shore up the Android experience for users of U.S. Cellular’s phablet.

The next major update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Google’s operating system though Samsung has not yet said when Galaxy Note 2 owners might expect the new firmware to roll out.

U.S. Cellular is often slower than the other four major U.S. carriers in getting updates out so it could be that the U.S Cellular Galaxy Note 2 will be last of the bunch to Android 4.2. At the very least, owners should expect it to arrive at some point in 2013.
