As expected, the U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update is now available to those that are using Samsung’s flagship on the United States’ fifth largest service provider.

U.S. Cellular updated it’s software upgrade page to reflect the fact that the Galaxy S3 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is now available to owners who wish to make the jump from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Fortunately, U.S. Cellular offers two separate ways to get the update rocking and rolling, one method using a USB cord and the other without the need for a USB cable.

Foe those that don’t want to plug into the computer, the update can be pulled simply by visiting the settings in the device, specifically, the About section and then checking for an update. The update should prompt and the download and installation process will begin.

The U.S. Cellular Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update is now available.

Those who don’t wish to go that route can plug their Galaxy S3 into a computer and get the update through Samsung Kies. We recommend the former method as it’s much easier but those that prefer to do it through Kies have that option available to them.

Once the download process begins, it should take awhile to both finish downloading and installing the update so U.S. Cellular Galaxy S3 owners should set aside some time to install the update. It’s Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean which means that it’s a fairly massive sized piece of firmware.

After that process is over, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean will replace Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the U.S. Cellular Galaxy S3 which means that all five U.S. Galaxy S3 devices will now have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board.

The update will be bringing a host of new features to Galaxy S3 owners on U.S. Cellular including a faster, smoother user interface, Google Now, expanded Notifications and improved widgets, better Voice Search, more Face Unlock options and a whole lot more. It will be a huge upgrade over Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the previous version of Android found on the Galaxy S3.

All that means is that it will be well worth it to owners to download and install.
