Verizon Galaxy Nexus Battery Size Confirmed?

Published

on

One of the remaining mysteries surrounding Verizon’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is how big the device’s battery is going to be. We had thought that it was going to include the same 1750mAh battery found in the European version of the device that’s launching on November 17th but there is now evidence that suggests that Verizon’s variant might have a bigger one on board.

According to a piece of intel acquired by Droid-Life, Verizon’s version may have an 1850mAh battery on board when it arrives “later this year.” Those interested in its accessories will also be glad to know that its HDMI portrait-style desktop dock has also shown up and its listed fort $60.

Now, the battery life tidbit is by no means a confirmation but it’s a pretty good sign that Samsung and Verizon have decided not to take any chances with the carrier’s 4G LTE network and we think that many of you out there who have been hoping to get this will appreciate that fact.

When will we know for sure? That’s still an unknown as well.

We’ve heard November 17th and November 21st as possible launch dates but Big Red has yet to confirm anything.

Let’s hope it does so soon.

Spoke to a Verizon marketing rep on 11/11 for the Razr launch. He confirmed that Verizon will not be releasing the phone directly on Black Friday, as he said that would be too chaotic; however, he did confirm that could mean the phone might be released prior to Black Friday; ie. the 21st. The only concrete answer he was able to give me, however, was that it would definitely be before Christmas. He gave me his personal contact info and said he would pass along anything that he hears.
