Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Competitor Revealed

Published

on

It’s unclear if Verizon will be getting the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung’s upcoming next-generation phablet, but at the very least it will be getting a competitor called the LG Intuition, otherwise known as the LG Optimus Vu, which has seen new details revealed today.

Droid-Life has unearthed a leaked document that not only confirms the name of Verizon’s variant of the LG Optimus Vu, but also its price and some of its features.

The document reveals that the device will be called the LG Intuition here in the United States and it will be coming with a $199.99 price tag after a new two-year agreement.

The LG Intuition will cost $549 off-contract.

The LG Intuition will compete against the Galaxy Note 2.

And while an exact release date is unknown, we know that it will be arriving sometime in this quarter thanks to LG. That means that it will be doing battle with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sooner or later, a device that has yet to reveal itself.

It’s unclear if the LG Intuition, with its 5-inch display, will compete against the Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon itself or if it will compete Verizon’s answer to the Galaxy Note 2 on other carriers.

Samsung is poised to announce the Galaxy Note 2 on August 29th and we may see Verizon confirm or remain silent about its plans for the device.

Besides the massive 5-inch display, the LG Intuition sports a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, the same processor in the U.S. versions of the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III. It also has 1GB of RAM, a rear-facing 8MP camera, and 32GB of internal storage space.

It also, like the Galaxy Note, takes advantage of a pen stylus for direct input on the display.

We imagine LG and Verizon will fill us in on the rest of the details in the near future now that the device is out in the open. Just when though, remains a mystery at this point.

Anyone interested in this over the Galaxy Note 2?

I believe this one will fail. At least now I know what some folks felt like when they first saw the 1st Gen Galaxy and thought it was too big when compared to other phones at the time. But this one looks way to wide and for it to not have a place for its stylus/pen just doesn’t make sense.
If Verizon wants to get this instead of a Note 2, or to along side of it, then I think it would be a mistake. But then again my carrier is Sprint and I’m looking forward for the Note 2 there instead.

Hell naw its a ugly phone lol. Maybe it had that 1080p display it would be something to look like. But HTC will be using that

How Verizon can pass on the Note and carry this is beyond me and, what further frustrates me is the fact that LG would design this phone and not even allow a storage spot on the phone for the stylus! Who wants to carry this thing in their pocket AND a stylus? Simply PPP on both LG’s and Verizon’s part. I really want to stay with Verizon, but if they do not carry the Note 2, then my family plan may migrate to AT&T.

I petitioned Verizon to bring the Galaxy Note (rumored to be called the Galaxy Journal on Verizon) on board and threatened to move my phone lines over to AT&T. After 10 years I took the leap of faith and dumped Verizon. I haven’t looked back since and have been utterly amazed at what I have achieved with this thing of beauty. Gone are the days of totting around an AlienWare 11mx netbook, Samsung I-730 (Yes I waited 7 years for a business-class replacement) and my Galaxy Tab 7.0

Comparing this to the Note 2 is a joke. Given we haven’t seen the Note 2, but even comparing this to the Note 1 is a joke. LOL… The stylus is not even a stylus, it’s just a capacitive pen like any other phone or tablet. The Note has a real stylus. Fine tip, dual pressure stylus. That’s why this is going to fail big time.

Failure written all over it. That styles is nothing but one of those junk passive capacitive stylii that don’t actual work well enough to be useful.

Verizon, if you get this INSTEAD of the Note 2…You are a joke of a carrier and I hope you go out of business. But if this in conjunction with the Note 2, then great, different devices for different tastes…C’mon, Verizon, don’t blow it AGAIN…Gosh!

The whole LG brand altogether is garbage period!! The mere fact that they can compare this grotesque thing with the upcoming galaxy note 2 or any another good brand out there is just an insult. People have to educate them selves starting with at least the most basic electronics like basic televisions and sound systems before moving up to consumer appliances and tech’no gadgets. For crying out loud go to a major electronic store and compare any LG with what ever is next to it, for crying out loud even cheap westinghouse tvs are better lol. tisk tisk LG customers.

The VU is a competitor? That is like saying a UPS truck and a BMW 7 series are competitors? Who the hell would want a VU if they could get the Note 2?

My only worry is if this phone fails , that Verizon will not blame the phone but the phablet market.

I have been a loyal Verizon customer for many years, why Verizon would not give us the choice of the Note 2 is beyond me. Talk about leaving their customers high and dry on this one.
