Earlier this week, the Verizon Note 2 finally went up for sale at Amazon Wireless, several days after the device was first released on Verizon’s high-speed 4G LTE network. At the time, the device was available for $279.99 on-contract and $279.99 for those looking to upgrade to a new device.

The Verizon Galaxy Note 2 has dropped in price. Again.

Now though, Amazon has slashed the price even further for new customers as both the white and gray versions of the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 have seen their price drop all the way down to $199.99 on-contract. That’s a $100 discount over the asking price of Verizon which remains $299.99 on-contract just like the prices of its competitors. Needless to say, this is a bit of a deal over the $20 discount that arrived just a few short days ago.

In fact, the price for Verizon’s Galaxy Note 2 on Amazon actually beats out the discounts found on the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 and AT&T Galaxy Note 2 which both feature price tags well above $200.

Unfortunately, the price only applies to new customers. Those who are looking to upgrade to the Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon are going to have to shell out the usual $279.99 on-contract for the device.

This price is a steal for a device of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2’s caliber and especially for the Verizon version which sits on the carrier’s massive 4G LTE network which boasts over 400 markets in the U.S.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 also happens to be one of the best Android phones on the market boasts a 5.5-inch HD display, quad-core processor, 8MP rear camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and a solid design that is reminiscent of a large Galaxy S3.

It also comes bundled with its unique S-Pen stylus which allows for users to write and draw directly on the display and take advantage of some powerful software.

Yeah the price is lower, but the catch is you have to sign up with a plan that is at lease $80 per month.

One reason I have no desire for a smartphone; about $1000 a year to add the data plan. Wake me when the data is included. I’m a sensible Mid-Westerner.

Page Plus Cellular uses Verizon towers, and offers an unlimited talk & text plan with 2 GB of data for $55/month or unlimited talk and text with 5 GB of data for $69.95/month. LTE is currently not available, you can not use an iPhone on their service (Verizon won’t allow it), but most other Verizon phones work with their service, and their service, and customer service is second to none.

$1000 a year, really? Where do you live? I pay $360 a year.

Chuong, it’s ok to be gay. But your voo-oice is very extreme and annoying. Delicately so. Just a little constructive criticism.

Oh yeah, and by the way, Amazon’s price is $279.99, not $200. Get your facts straight.
