Verizon HTC One Release Date Pushed Back Two Weeks

Published

The Verizon HTC One Release remains weeks away as a new leak indicates Verizon will not announce the HTC One on August 1st, but will instead delay until August 15th.

Despite an official confirmation of the HTC One for Verizon at the beginning of June, the popular smartphone remains MIA two months later, but there may finally be relief for Verizon HTC One buyers.

Verizon and HTC remain silent on the Verizon HTC One release date, but a new internal document shows a new Verizon HTC One release date which slots the aging but attractive device in between the Moto X announcement and the Droid RAZR Ultra and Droid RAZR Maxx release.

We already know that the Verizon HTC One will carry the same looks and same features as the HTC One on T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint, but it appears that it will launch with a newer version of Android. According to a noted HTC leakster the Verizon HTC One will ship with Android 4.2.2 which adds new features and bug fixes to the device.

In early June a Verizon roadmap pointed to the HTC One Verizon release on August 1st, but the latest leak shows a small delay.

The Verizon HTC One already passed through the FCC paving the way for the popular device to arrive on Verizon’s large 4G LTE network, it’s just a matter of when it will arrive and thanks to a new leak on Droid-Life it looks like we have a new Verizon HTC One release date.

This new Verizon roadmap highlights various training and internal details about NFL Mobile and insurance options and includes an update on the Verizon HTC One. The document below shows the Verizon HTC One release date for August 15th. This would be a Thursday release for the long-awaited Android phone which would fit in well before the late August Droid release, allowing Verizon to keep distance between the two smartphone launches and add separation between the Moto X announcement that takes place on August first..

Even with the Verizon HTC One release date delay, Verizon customers are likely just weeks away from buying the HTC One. Even though the Verizon HTC One comes months after the release on competing carriers it remains one of the best smartphones of 2013, earning a Gotta Be Mobile  Editor’s Choice for the premium design, great camera technology and Sense 5 software.

This document doesn’t outline the Verizon HTC One price or the release day details, including in-store an online availability, but after such a long delay it is possible Verizon will put the device online and on store shelves without any further hold up.

Well I was undecided about the HTC One or the Samsung Galaxy S4. My current Incredible 2 is about to die and I don’t think it will last until the 15th! So I guess Verizon made up my mind for me!

I hate to say it but when you think about it. The verizon phone will come out of the box with an installed update plus 4.2.2 instead of the 4.1.2 soft wear. I hate it too them treating their customers like crap but hopefully in the end after waiting for the one we can smile knowing we have the best ones made.
