Verizon HTC One Release Passes Roadblock

Published

on

The Verizon HTC One, which is official but is still without a release date, appears to have passed a roadblock on its way to release as a new Bluetooth SIG certification has been discovered for a HTC HTC6500LVW, thought to be the Verizon HTC One.

Several weeks ago, the Verizon HTC One was made official and given a release date for sometime this summer. Since then, HTC and Verizon have remained silent on the details leaving consumers frustrated, looking for answers. Unfortunately, those answers have not made themselves known yet and buyers have had to rely on leaks and speculation.

Earlier today, the first press photo of the Verizon HTC One leaked to the surface boasting a date of September 5th. Many have speculated that that date could be the Verizon HTC One release date, speculation that is based on previous dates relating to launch dates. Of course, HTC and Verizon have yet to confirm that date and a release date remains unknown.

What we do know though is that the Verizon HTC One release has inched closer thanks to a Bluetooth SIG filing for a device called the HTC HTC6500LVW which has, in the past, been shown to be the Verizon HTC One. The filing, noticed by Blog of Mobile, passed just yesterday on June 30th, which could mean that an arrival is getting closer.

Bluetooth SIG certification is just one of the hoops that a smartphone must go through on its way to release and now that the Verizon HTC One has apparently passed through, it should be closer to arrival. Whether or not this is in anticipation of a September release is unclear.

The Verizon HTC One is expected to look the same as the other models and boast similar hardware and software including a 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, Ultrapixel camera, full metal design and more.

It’s expected to launch with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, software that hasn’t yet hit the HTC One, and something that could be holding up the Verizon HTC One release date announcement.

We are sick and ignoring them, Adam mills over did them, thank god they slowed, if Verizon gets it fine! If not you know Verizon waits till holiday season to launch top high end devices!! They will probably have a HTC ONE upgraded model we don’t know that Verizon does and come end of year like all carriers they launch them, this wont surprise me at all they did that with all droid and droid razr in 2011 at Xmas time? But we’ll see and I’m not going to loose any sleep till then wen I see it in the stores?? Verizon should had been first to have it not AT&T ?? I was shocked at that?? It is what it is, I have no contract with Verizon so I’m waiting for the goods before I renew!! My old droid razr still works fine 2 1/2 years later!!

I’m very frustrated with Verizon and the delay of the HTC One. I currently have no contract with them and will just wait it out. I’d just like some kind of release date instead of before September. I currently have a iPhone and it works just fine just looking to make a change to a slightly larger phone. Lets go Verizon!
