Must Follow the Rules Exactly

Here’s the full breakdown of how these work. If you skip a step or are not in the right place at the right time, you might miss out on your deal.

  1. Line up starting at 6PM Thanksgiving Day at Walmart
  2. Be in the line within an hour of the event start.
  3. If the item is in stock you’ll take it home, if not you’ll get a ticket to purchase the item.
  4. Register the item on Walmart’s website and pick the store you want it delivered to.
  5. Get alerts and then pick up the item by December 24th.

You’ll find store maps that show the location of each deal online and in the Walmart app. Just because an item is a gadget doesn’t mean that it is in the Electronics section of the store, so study up and get in line.

Keep in mind you may need to check out by a specific time, so don’t hold on to the ticket for hours and then try to check out.

Must Claim Deals By December 1st

If Walmart is out of the item and you buy one of the Walmart 1 Hour Guarantee Tickets, you need to go online and register before the end of the day on December 1st. This is Monday, so you do have some time, which is important because last year issues prevented some shoppers from registering in a timely manner.

Thankfully there is a little more time and Walmart had a year to learn from those issues. Still, you should register on Friday instead of waiting until the last minute on Monday.

One of Each Item Per Customer

Unless you happen to live in a state that doesn’t allow limitations, you can only buy one of each item. That means you’ll need to drag a family member along if you want to buy an iPad mini for two people in your family.

You can buy multiple items on this list, as long as you can get to each line in time, but on Black Friday that may be a challenge you can’t accomplish.

You Can’t Lose the Credit

Even if you fail to register for the Walmart Black Friday 2014 guaranteed deals in time, or if you change your mind, you don’t lose your money. You basically end up with a gift card for the amount of the item you chose. You can use this gift card online or in store just like any other gift card.

In Store Pickup Only

This is in store pickup only, so you cannot ask for delivery to you or to the person you are buying this for as a gift. You must select the store you want to pick it up and then bring your receipt, online order info and gift card when you learn that it is available for pickup. Last year Walmart allowed for an alternate pickup person, if that helps simplify the whole process.

iPad Mini Black Friday Deal at Walmart

iPad Mini Black Friday Deal at Walmart

The Walmart iPad mini deal may not be the deepest discount, but it is tied with Target for the best iPad mini Black Friday deal of the year. Walmart chops $50 off the price of the iPad mini and includes a $30 gift card that you can use on a future purchase. This combines for $80 in savings and essentially means you'll get an iPad mini for $169 after you factor in all the savings. That's a steal, even for the older version of the iPad without a Retina display.

Well you can appearantly follow all of those instructions and STILL get denied. The store I went to “ran out of vouchers”. So I was out of luck according to the associate. So Walmarts guarantee is a complete misrepresentation.
