For the last several weeks using Office 2016 for Mac on OS X El Capitan was rough. The app crashed and many users were left with issues and problems that impacted productivity.

Microsoft issued an update for the apps like Outlook 2016, Word 2016 and the rest of the suite soon after the OS X El Capitan release, but it did not fix the problem.

Apple includes fixes for Microsoft Office 2016 compatibility in OS X 10.11.1. User reports of using Office 2016 on OS X 10.11.1 are generally positive.
