Windows 7 Kinda, Sorta, Announced Again
Drumroll. Microsoft has announced through the Windows Vista Blog, (curious) that the next version of the Windows operating system will be called…. wait for it, Windows 7. Yes, we’re supposed to hear details coming out of PDC, and yes, this is supposed to be a big deal, but now we know what we already have known. Again. For sure. Without question.

As I said over on jkOnTheRun, I like that Windows 7, Windows Mobile 7, and mostly likely Windows Server 7 (2008 R2) will finally reach version parity in the next year.
I speculate that an underlying theme in the decision is that since 7 is often a sign of perfection, Windows 7 could be the perfection of Vista… at least, in the eyes of Microsoft.
