The X Factor’s Simon Cowell Gets Something Right

Published

on

A new season of The X Factor is kicking off tonight, but Simon Cowell’s already correctly picked a winner. No, he hasn’t chosen the best singer yet, but he has picked out the best phone.

Verizon is The X Factor’s official wireless partner. Normally I don’t pay much attention to talent shows like the ones Simon Cowell produces, but I am a sucker for anything to do with wireless devices. His TV shows have come a long way over the years. At first people could vote only by calling. Voting by SMS came later and now we’re at a point where these shows come complete with full-blown mobile apps.

In a commercial that’s airing during The X Factor, Simon Cowell tosses a bunch of ‘rubbish’ phones off a beach-house balcony. Presumably, none of the other phones run on Verizon’s network. The last remaining phone is what he calls the “complete opposite of rubbish…something I can get behind…absolutely fantastic.”

Say what you will about Simon Cowell’s musical preferences, but at least he’s promoting the right phone. I picked up a Droid Bionic the first day it launched and I’m really enjoying it so far. It’s by far the fastest phone I’ve owned and it blows competing devices out of the water in more way than one.

Now of course Simon is promoting whatever phone his contract with Verizon requires him to, but the Bionic deserves whatever praises it can get. With the supposed iPhone 5 release date looming, the Motorola Droid Bionic will likely be overshadowed in the coming months by both Verizon and Apple marketing.

I just got a $829.99 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for. I use GrаbPenny.сom

Isn’t the Trophy a Windows Phone?

It’s interesting how shows like these are leading the charge on the mobile marketing ventures. Mobile voting, show specific ads, what’s next? https://trumpia.com

Simon Cowell shouldn’t be polluting our beaches.  Horrible commercial.
