Xbox One Price and Release: UK Retailer Starts Xbox One Pre-Orders

Published

The Xbox One price and release are in flux, but this morning one UK retailer is setting up shop and taking Xbox One pre-orders with a price and release date.

It’s common to see third-party retailers offer up early pre-orders and pricing information on hot electronic items, but keep in mind that these Xbox One price and release details aren’t coming from Microsoft.

UK retailer Zavvi is taking Xbox One pre-orders for £399.99 with an estimated Xbox One release date of November 30th.

The retailer is also taking pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 with a £399.99 price and a release by the end of 2013. The Xbox One game prices are currently up for £49.99, slightly higher than Xbox 360 game prices.

The Xbox One price is set at £399.99 in the UK at a third-party retailer, but it is subject to change.

This pricing makes sense for the Xbox One, but it is something that could easily change in the UK, and a price we could see in various forms in the U.S.

Zavvi states that there is no deposit required and the company will reduce the price shoppers must pay if the actual Xbox One cost is cheaper than the currently quoted price.

UK users can jump on an Xbox One pre-order though there is no official price or release date yet.

The U.S. Xbox One price is not up on any popular retailers yet, though GameStop is letting PowerUp Rewards members sign up to be notified of more information.

Zavvi’s £399.99 Xbox One price translates to roughly $600 US, which is a possible price for the console, but we often see companies vary pricing between regions.

When the original Xbox launched in 2005 we saw prices of $399 in the U.S. and £279.99 in the UK. Based on the exchange rate in 2005, this placed the Xbox 360 at about $480 US.

With this in mind, we could see a U.S. Xbox One price jump away from any UK pricing by around $100 US.

During the hour long Xbox One reveal Microsoft revealed the new Xbox with Kinect 2.0 and a list of major new features that take over the living room, and showed off an amazing looking Call of Duty: Ghosts gameplay demo. More Xbox One games will take the stage on June 10th at E3 when Microsoft takes the stage again.

In addition to the price and Xbox One release date, Microsoft needs to clear up the used game fee policy which the company has yet to provide a straight answer on.
