ASUS R2E on BestBuy.com!

An alert reader posted the link to the ASUS R2E available on Best Buy! It shows as "Backordered, Usually leaves our warehouse in 1-2 weeks time," so maybe that bodes well on a release happening really soon.

Price listed is $1099.99. Higher than I would prefer, but not wholly unexpected. It ships with Vista Home Premium.

The model listed on Best Buy seems like a pretty standard configuration. Interestingly, the ad claims the memory is expandable to 4GB. Given that the ASUS website lists 1GB as soldered onboard, I’m not sure how Best Buy is able to put on 4GB. Now, if it has confirmed 2GB as the max memory, I would have both believed it and been very, very happy.
