We knew it was there but just not switched on. Now it is. Google is rolling out an update for the Android OS that now provides multi-touch in the Gallery, Maps, and the Browser. This will be viewed with great enthusiasm by quite a few folks as it has just seemed silly that you could use mutli-touch with at least one third party browser that I know of, but not the native Google apps.
There has been much speculation that the hold up on implementing multi-touch on Android phones in the US was some sort of agreement between Apple and Google. If such a thing existed, looks like it doesn’t any longer. Nexus One users, let us know what you think!
