Say Goodbye to Snow Days Now That Online Schooling is Catching On

Uh, oh. This won’t sit well. Looks like the Mississinawa Valley School District in Darke County, Ohio is going to use the Internet so that students can still do work when snow and ice cause schools to be canceled. I’m not sure if this is the first case of this, but it is the first I’ve heard of. In our area given geography that features both mountains and valleys we frequently have schools canceled when the mountains get precipitation and the valleys do not.

I guess it only makes sense as online courses have been offered in a number of ways for some time now. But can you imagine what this is going to mean for all those kids (and teachers) who look forward to a “snow day.”

Ah, the advances of technology.
