Amazon Finally Makes eBooks Giftable

Warner Crocker —  11/19/2010

Well it took long enough. As an avid eBook reader one of my frustrations with Amazon, which is my eBook source of choice, was that you couldn’t gift an eBook purchase. Sure you could send someone an Amazon gift card or certificate and then they could purchase what they wanted, but what’s the point of a Wish List is someone can’t grab a book off of it and send it to you as a gift.

Well, today that’s changed. Amazon now lets anyone gift anyone with an eBook, no Kindle required. Essentially you just click the Give as a Gift button and send to to whomever you wish to bestow the book upon. I’d recommend making sure they have a Kindle or use the Kindle software on one of the many platforms that Amazon makes it available for first, though.
