Google Chrome Notebook Unboxed (video)

Xavier Lanier —  12/09/2010

FedEx just dropped off my Google Chrome notebook. The Google Chrome notebook (Cr-48) probably won’t turn any heads. It’s plain black and void of any branding. Here’s a quick video unboxing of the thing.

Google really built up my expectations at the Google Chrome event on Tuesday and so far I’m impressed. Setup took less than a minute. Setting up my free Verizon account took about five minutes.

Unfortunately, there are a few gotchas that are already taking some of the shine off the Chrome for me already. YouTube videos stutter and are unwatchable, even at low res. The battery meter is expressed in percentage and the actual time remaining is still calculating.

I’ll be playing with the Chrome notebook all night and report back in the morning with my experiences.

  1. Did they email or call you to tell you that you were in the program or did they just overnight it to you?
