LG Plans to Integrate Smartphones, Tablets with Smart ‘Thinq’ Appliances

Published

on

LG, which is manufacturing smartphones and tablets under the company’s Optimus brand, is planning to deliver customers who purchase its home appliances added value by offering integration with smartphones. Under the company’s Thinq brand for appliances, customers will be able to control their home appliances using smartphones and tablets.

Thinq appliances will be Internet connected devices via your home’s WiFi network. You can then use your LG-powered, or perhaps another smartphone, to remotely control your appliances–perhaps lowering the temperature on your heater, controlling the settings on your refrigerator, or start your washing machine at a later time when you’re away from home provided that the clothes are loaded.
