It looks like chip-maker Intel may have flashed a smartphone prototype sporting the company’s forthcoming Medfield mobile processor chipset on stage at a company sales conference last week. The prototype hardware may even be running the MeeGo operating system, which is jointly developed by Intel and Nokia as the two fight the smartphone war against ARM-based chip designs and Android respectively.

Not a lot of information is known at this time, but Nokia is rumored to be working an a MeeGo-powered Nokia N9 smartphone that will be utilizing an Intel Atom-based processor clocking in at 1.2 GHz. That smartphone is expected to make its debut at Mobile World Congress.
