iPad 2 Gets A5 Processor: 9x Faster

Xavier Lanier —  03/02/2011

The iPad 2 will feature an A5 processor, which will provide much higher performance than the processor in the original iPad. Apple claims that the A5 dual-core processor will double the speed of general processing and provide nine-times speedier graphics.

What does this mean for iPad 2 users?  App developers will be able to design games and apps that are more complex. iPad 2 users will be able to experience more immersive games and video-rich apps.

The average iPad 2 buyer will probably never mention the dual-core A5 processor since Apple stresses user experience over hardware specifications.
