iPhone 4S Launching in September with Support for Sprint and T-Mobile?
According to analyst Peter Misek from Jefferies & Co., Apple will not be launching LTE with its next-generation iPhone but will be launching a phone we’ve seen called the iPhone 4S which will feature better cameras, a dual-core A5 chip, and HSPA+ support.
It will also apparently come to both Sprint and T-Mobile.
In addition to the new American carriers, Misek claims that Apple will also make the iPhone 4S available on China Mobile sometime within the next 12 months. Sprint and T-Mobile will apparently get the iPhone 4S in time for the holidays.
As for LTE, Misek notes that:
…the Qualcomm LTE chipset Apple would have used “is currently not achieving yields sufficient for inclusion in the iPhone 5.” He says Apple had hoped to have the LTE chipsets ready, but was planning a version without LTE called iPhone 4S.
He also says, again like we have already heard, that the iPhone 4S will launch at some point during the month of September.
