Software
Here an App Store, There an App Store, Everywhere an App Store
The online application market is heating up. Apple’s App Store is certainly a hot commodity both for developers and users, as well for controversy. With the recent announcement of Google and T-Mobile’s G1 Android phone also came word of an online source for applications there as well. Now, Zoho, is launching an Application Marketplace for its online services as well as a venue for developers to create software using Zoho Creator.
According to TechCrunch, Zoho already has over 100,000 applications built on the platform, although they won’t automatically be moved to the new Marketplace. Zoho is going to be giving developers 100% of the revenue which is certainly different than Apple’s modus operandi. Of course the interesting thing here is that these applications aren’t tied to a specific device.
