We had heard that Motorola and Verizon were going to be rolling out the Motorola Droid 2 Global Gingerbread update similar to how they did it with the Droid X, however from the looks of things, it appears that they have gone ahead and just released it to the masses.
If you head on over to the Droid 2 Global software update page on Verizon, you’ll find that Verizon has posted instructions on how to the download the update and all of its lovely upgrades. For those that don’t want to click on the PDF, all you have to do is this:
Menu Key > tap Settings > About phone > System Updates > Download.
The update should be there waiting for you. If for some reason it’s not or if you don’t want to pull it, Big Red is going to be rolling the update out OTA at some point in the near future. The additions, which you can see here, are numerous and should make the Droid 2 Global an even better device.
And now, the wait for the original Motorola Droid 2′s Gingerbread begins.
