It’s not uncommon for companies to perform research and analysis based on what users say they will or won’t purchase online, but frankly if you believe everything you read on Facebook and Twitter about what people want to or plan to buy, you need to have your head examined.

Why are we skeptical about this type of unsolicited data collection and conclusion drawing? It all boils down to the fact that when a new device comes out, or when a user learns about a new device, it is fairly common to say that they will purchase the phone. It also doesn’t hurt that the Galaxy S II will arrive on several carriers instead of a single carrier, which can account for a lot more users asking if they should get it, but not necessarily turning into purchases.

We’ve all seen tweets that say, “The Galaxy S II will be my next phone!” on Twitter, but when you meet the person 3 months later they picked up an iPhone or the most recent Android device.

Simply put, social media may deliver some interesting data, but we can’t always trust social media users to put their money where their tweets are.

I’m guilty of this all the time. At least once a month I’ll express my desire top purchase a new smartphone, gadget, app or notebook — but by the time I am looking for a new phone or gadget the old one I mentioned last month has faded from memory.

That makes perfect sense since the Bionic will only be with Verizon and the GS2 will be on all of the networks!

What is Android Ice Cream Sandwich anyway? It is like they are blatantly making stuff up.

You need to do a lil web research my friend. It’s the one Android OS that will run ALL possible platforms. IE-Cellphones, Tablets, Google TV etc.

I personally have been watching & waiting for the Bionic since CES of this year. I’ve become a little frustrated with the whole release fiasco. At this point if the S2 comes out before the Bionic I will most likely go that route.

I guess I’ll have to go with the Galaxy even though I want the Bionic. Damn surveys.

Which ever one comes out on version with a good dual core and supporting 4g LTE, I’ll get.

Rumors I’ve seen said the S II will not be 4g LTE?  and if so that will suck and will not be for me!

I currently have the SGS2 (using it on AT&T) and I will honestly state that this is the best phone I ever had (coming from an iPhone).
The screen is beautiful, the UI is very nice and performance is excellent.  It may not be true 4G, but it has been the fastest download/upload speeds i have gotten on a mobile phone.
Android has quite a few apps and I did not have a problem switching from the iPhone since all my apps were present on this device.
I have never heard of the Motorola Droid Bionic, so I cannot tell if it a better phone, but I really dislike the Motorola UX.
