AT&T VP Reportedly Confirms Early October iPhone 5 Release Date

Published

on

Last we heard from the iPhone 5, it was launching on October 7th with pre-orders starting on September 29th or September 30th. Of course, until Apple makes an announcement all of that is pure rumor but today BGR has offered up another clue that seems to add some steam behind those dates.

According to a “high level” AT&T source, an AT&T Vice President has confirmed to several employees that the iPhone 5 is currently scheduled to launch at some point in early October. October 7th just so happens to be in early October so that’s looking pretty good as a release date, folks. Somewhere around there at the very least.

In addition, the Vice President purportedly stated this to a group of AT&T managers:

Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare your teams accordingly.

Pretty vague but it definitely gives us a pretty good indication that something big is going to be taking place at AT&T very soon. And at this point, all signs point to an iPhone 5 launch being that something big.

So, unless Apple pulls a huge surprise, we’re probably looking at a launch event at some point in September followed by a pre-order period and then a launch in early October. Think you can handle that?
