Apple to Launch iPhone 4 8GB Alongside iPhone 5 in September?

We have heard rumors for quite awhile now about the possibility of Apple launching not one but two iPhones this fall and a report from Reuters corroborates that notion as their sources have indicated that Apple is preparing to release a cheaper iPhone 4 model alongside the iPhone 5 at the end of September.

The report claims that the cheaper iPhone 4 model will be a design that comes with an 8GB flash drive to be manufactuered by an as of yet, unknown South Korean manufacturer. Currently, Apple gets its flash drives from Toshiba and Samsung so it’s possible that Apple and Samsung have put their differences aside for the sake of the iPhone.

Right now, Apple only offers 16GB and 32GB models of the iPhone 4. By adding an 8GB iPhone 4 model, Apple hopes to cut into sales of deeply discounted Android handsets that are perpetually on the market.

Now,you might recall that we had heard that the beginning of October was the release date for the iPhone 5 and unfortunately, this does not gel with that. This claims that Apple is targeting the end of September for launch so it’s possible that we might see two new iPhones debut next month.

As for the iPhone 5 itself, it will apparently feature a bigger screen, a better antenna and an 8MP camera.
