Siri Goes Down and iPhone Users Fret. But Siri is Working Fine Here

Warner Crocker —  11/03/2011

There are reports on blogs and on Twitter that Siri is experiencing a large outage which is frustrating users.

In my own testing it occasionally is a bit slow if you ask for a web search or ask for a restaurant, but it seems to be working after about six tests, so this may depend on your location. Fellow GBMer Josh is reporting it is down for him and some folks around him in a coffee shop as well.

I’m wondering if we need a Fail Whale for Siri?

UPDATE: Well, it looks like that was short-lived. Siri is refusing to talk to me now as well.

Folks have to remember that this is a new service from Apple and with everything new there will always be problems…  Part of the project now is probably that everyone is testing to making sure it works which is most likely causing more server issues…

  2. So Siri is subject to the same problems that critics say is dooming the Blackberry?? That doesn’t bode well.
