iPhone 5 Pre-orders Start Shipping

The iPhone 5 won’t reach stores until September 21, but those who ordered online are starting to see shipping confirmation emails.

Users who pre-ordered the iPhone 5 should soon see an email in their inbox with their shipping information. We know Verizon started sending out emails this morning, and users should start getting confirmation from other carriers and Apple soon if they pre-ordered fast enough.

Users who haven’t received their shipping information yet can try to find track their packages on their own. It’s just a stop-gap until the emails with tracking information arrive, but it’s better than nothing.

Verizon iPhone 5 shipping confirmation

The iPhone 5 needs to travel from China before arriving on doorsteps in the nine launch countries. The orders will likely ship straight from Chinese factories to users without touching a carrier warehouse on their travels.

Accessories for the iPhone 5 are already arriving as well, days before the phone is available to most users. We know Apple’s Lightning adapters are already arriving to some users who ordered them, though nobody can actually use the adapters without an iPhone 5.

Apple already sold 2 million iPhone 5 pre-orders in the first 24 hours, and retail stores will have even more units in stock to sell. We know some potential buyers are lining up in front of the Fifth Avenue Apple Store in New York City already, and we wouldn’t be surprised if more stores start to see lines in the next few days.

Some analysts predict Apple could sell as many 10 million iPhone 5s by the end of September.

Got my shipping confirmation from Verizon this morning, FedEX standard overnight so looks like delivery scheduled for tomorrow! ;-)

Actually my verizon order was picked up in Memphis, TN, so there is a middle-warehouse… It also says “future delivery requested” – bastards! That means it could be here tomorrow, but they’re gonna build the suspense until Friday. probably. or not. bastards!!!

Got my shipping info also, and it too is coming from Memphis with Standard overnight shipping….BUT its says FUTURE DELIVERY REQUESTED! Gahhhh thats so lame. Why not just ship it now and get it over with.

Same here, From Memphis which was totally unexpected and its said its been there all day. Has not even left yet as of 9/18/12 at 4:30pm arizona time. So I’m assuming they are just holding it.

Ordered at 3:00 AM on opening date. Just saw that Verizon now moved my order shipping date back to October?

If you didn’t order your iphone within the first hour of launch you won’t be getting it on Friday 9/21.

They are being shipped by one of two methods – UPS and FedEx. You can track the UPS shipment without shipping info from Apple. To see if your iphone is enroute, go to UPS tracking, track by reference, enter the phone number used to order in the reference number area, and enter the country and zip code info.

Apple store still says preparing for shipment, but UPS shows that my phone will be at my home on 9/21 (I ordered within 10 minutes after launch).

I ordered mine from ATT last Friday at about 9:30am and I got the email this morning saying it will be delivering tomorrow. I was very surprised!!

Been tracking mine (actually 2 of them)…has been sitting in Memphis since Tues. afternoon, with locations changing off and on, but STILL in Memphis…This afternoon noticed a little movement and it says it left the Memphis facility. I am assuming it left and is headed to AZ via air. The original FED EX slip said to arrive on Fri. 9/21 by 4:30 via Overnight (b.s.) so I guess we shall receive it tomorrow sometime.
