AT&T Has Six Month Exclusivity For Nokia Lumia 920

AT&T will have exclusive access to the Nokia Lumia 920 for six months according to WPCentral.

AT&T recently announced it would carry both the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, and said the Lumia 920 is exclusive, though it wouldn’t specify for how long. Now it appears that Nokia’s flagship won’t come to any other U.S. carrier for at least six months.

After six months, Nokia can bring the Lumia 920 to any other U.S. carrier it wants including Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. There might be more new Windows Phones on the market at that point, however, including a Microsoft Surface smartphone.

HTC’s flagship WIndows Phone, the Windows Phone 8X will launch on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon at the same time. It offers users a high-end Windows Phone option on three of the four major U.S. carriers which Nokia isn’t doing.

There is still a possibility that Nokia will have a Lumia 920 variant for Verizon sometime in the near future. Nokia recently made an exclusive variant of a phone with the Lumia 810 for T-Mobile. Recent rumors talk about a Lumia 9xx that could land on Verizon sometime in the near future.

Other rumors already outed the Nokia Lumia 822, the Lumia 820 variant for Verizon.

Along with the exclusivity terms with AT&T, WPCentral also has a number of AT&T training videos for the flagship Windows Phone 8 device. The videos highlight the 4.5-inch PureMotion display, PureView camera, NFC, City Lens, Tap and Share, and wireless charging.

Neither AT&T nor Nokia have announced pricing or the release date for the Nokia Lumia 920. There’s a chance the companies will announce that information very soon. The latest users will have to wait is October 29 when Microsoft will officially launch Windows Phone 8 and talk about pricing and availability.
