Samsung Galaxy S4 Mock-Up Video: Beautiful Design, Rumored Specs
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is star of a new video showing what the phone might look like, and what features and specs to expect when the Galaxy S4 is released in 2013.
The Galaxy S4 video comes from Rozetked, highlighting the looks and rumored specs in a gorgeous looking two-minute video.
The Galaxy S4 video shows a mock-up of what the next smartphone might look like, including a thinner body, faster specs, a larger display and a new laser keyboard dock. While the dock is a bit far-fetched, the rest of the video is based on the Galaxy S4 rumors we’ve reported on for months.
Samsung’s Galaxy S4 security is likely as tight as it was for the Galaxy S3 launch, so we doubt the creators based the design off of a leaked Galaxy S4 photo, especially since the phone is in a dummy box anytime it is outside of secure areas, but this is a believable look for the phone.
The Galaxy S4 specs for the mocked up version fit with rumors. If these are true, we can expect the following bullet points when Samsung announces the Galaxy S4.
- 1080P “Grand” AMOLED Display
- 13MP Camera
- 2.0GHz Quad Core processor (Exynos)
- Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie
- Less than 7.6mm thick (“Thinner than Galaxy S3 & iPhone 5″)
The mock-up video doesn’t call out the screen size of the Galaxy S4, but rumors peg it at 4.99 or 5-inches, half an inch short of the Galaxy Note 2.
The Galaxy S4 release date is unconfirmed, but four separate rumors point to February 2013 at Mobile World Congress. If this date is to be believed, the next Galaxy won’t be running Key Lime Pie, Android 5.0, right out of the box. Android 5.0 won’t likely be announced until Google I/O in May 2013.
GottaBeMobile’s Galaxy S4 release date predictions put the S4 launch later in the year, possibly in May, so the device can launch with Android 5.0 onboard. Google’s plans for an “X-Phone” competitor to the S4 could put a damper on a launch with Key Lime Pie.
We don’t expect the laser keyboard dock, but it is a staple of the mock up videos, so it’s not surprising to see this bit of fantasy mixed in with believable rumors.
