Samsung Galaxy S4 Design Details & Features Reportedly Leak
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will reportedly feature a physical home button and will not feature a Samsung S Pen accessory, but the no contact control screen technology will fill in this gap.
Thanks to Samsung’s tight security there are few leaks, so even small details like this offer a better idea of what the Galaxy S4 could look like and what features it might hold.
Galaxy S4 Features Rumored
Earlier rumors pointed to the removal of the Galaxy S4 home button, but ddaily reports that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will feature a physical home button like the Galaxy S3 and the same touch capacitive buttons on the right and left of the physical home button.
While there is no concrete information about the rest of the Galaxy S4 design, it will reportedly look streamlined like the Galaxy S3.
Rumors in late 2012 suggested the Samsung Galaxy S4 would feature a S Pen, like the small stylus found on the Galaxy Note 2. The latest rumors claim the Galaxy S4 will not feature an S Pen, but do point to a touch free display that could allow users to control the smartphone without actually touching the display. The details are still murky, but this may be Samsung’s way of bringing S Pen like functionality to the Galaxy S4 without the need for an S Pen silo.
One of these features could be an implementation of Air Hover that allows the user to hover their finger above the display to see more about something, instead of using the S Pen. The video below shows how Air Hover could be used with a finger hovered over the screen, starting at 45 seconds in.
The Korean newspaper also cites a March launch for the Galaxy S4 and an April Galaxy S4 release in select markets. At this point we’ve heard these launch rumors enough that March looks like a very good possibility, and the international release in April is also looking very good. We’ve previously heard that the Galaxy S4 would land in the U.S. in May or June.
