A new set of iPhone renders shows what users might expect form an iPhone that comes in more color options than black and white.
This series of iPhone renders feature one with a large 4.5-inch screen, but this is not an iPhone 6 concept, or even an iPhone 5S concept — but a look how Apple could deliver a budget iPhone that doesn’t look cheap.
The image above shows a budget iPhone next to the iPhone 5 and next to a budget iPhone with a 4.5-inch display. Based on the rumors we’ve heard, this could be what the iPhone 5S looks like next to a budget iPhone.
While we’ve heard various screen size rumors for a budget iPhone, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, revealed Friday on AppleInsider that he believes the budget iPhone will feature a 4-inch display. Kuo is well-known for delivering accurate Apple information thanks to sources inside the Apple supply chain.
Kuo believes that the budget iPhone will come in four to six color options and that the budget iPhone will feature a plastic display with design cues from the recent iPod touch. These budget iPhone renders show a mix of iPod touch and recent Apple design styles.
We’ve previously heard that Apple may launch the iPhone 5S and the budget iPhone around the same time. There are rumors that Apple will include color options on the iPhone 5S as a way to differentiate from the competition. If Apple were to launch the budget iPhone with colors, it would not necessarily mean color options for the iPhone 5S which is expected to arrive with an aluminum and glass design.
A budget iPhone would likely launch in developing countries where a more expensive iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S is not an option. Most rumors suggest a cheap iPhone would not see a U.S. release, as the iPhone 4S would likely become a free iPhone on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.
